Ronald McDonald House . . .

As all of you OVERCOMERS out there know, our class project of providing brunch at the Ronald McDonald House was changed. The correct information is below..

Our class

will be providing BRUNCH

at the Ronald McDonald House

on Saturday, December 19th.

Everyone should be there about 9:00 a.m.

Breakfast will be served at 10:00 a.m.

The brunch should be over about 11:30 a.m.

Class Anniversary Celebration!!!

Wow! A six year anniversary celebration. In ways it seems like our class has been together much longer due to the closeness of all of our members. What a fun time for all!!! Everyone especially enjoyed visiting with Mel and Phyllis since most  no longer get to see them very often. I only wish that we could all get together at one time. We have had a wonderful six years together and I pray that we have many more.

Class Celebration . . .

We will be making ice cream sundaes next week during class in celebration of our six year anniversary. Von is bringing  the ice cream and thought  that we could each bring our favorite topping to share.  So, come celebrate with us our six years together. Look forward to seeing everyone. Hope to see some who have been unable to be here recently.

Reading Assignment . . .

Hope everyone is reading  Revelation this week. I think we are suppose to have read the entire book of Revelation. Saturday,  we will be covering the first three chapters on the churches. Hope to see everyone Saturday at class. Have a great week!!!

Overcomers . . .

As I was reading my Bible this morning, I was beginning the book of Exodus which records the events of the Israelites deliverance from Egypt. As we  face our daily struggles of our own we often wonder,  “Why does God allow us to face these struggles?” However, we must realize that if we place our faith and trust in God, it is our struggles that help to make us stronger and prepare us for the future. To be OVERCOMERS, we must have struggles and temptations to OVERCOME.

Class Bonfire

Wow!!! What a great time!!! The food was fantastic. The weather could not have been any better. There was a great turnout of fellow class members as well as other friends. Some  were there early and others attended church before the gathering.  The bonfire that Dee created was extraordinary. It was a whole lot more than just one burning bush. You could almost feel the intense heat up on the patio. Just kidding, of course, but it was a really big bonfire. Dee, of course, was the utmost hostess as she always attends to the many details to make an event memorable and special. This event was no exception — Dee does not disappoint!!! Thanks, Dee, for a wonderful social gathering. It makes me realize the importance of such gatherings and to recognize the need for us to have more events such as this in the future.

Class Bonfire . . .

Dee so graciously has again invited us to have a class outing and bonfire at her lovely home. Can you imagine wrestling with her alpacas for entertainment? This should be a very entertaining evening to say the least. We all had a very enjoyable time last year and this year the wrestling of the alpacas should add to the fun. Since Dee is being so gracious to offer her home, please plan to attend. This should be a wonderful time of fellowship for all.

Hi everyone! I have a “take home” from Bob Russells message tonight at the New Members Ministry Aprreciation Dinner, that I’d like to share with all of you. God’s Word tells us to be thankful in all circumstances. Notice the word “in”. We don’t have to be thankful for our circumstances, but be thankful IN all circumstances, for we know that ALL things work together for good for those who love God and have been called according to His purpose. It’s so easy to misunderstand what God is telling us sometimes. I felt relief when I heard that, because God knows I’m not happy for losing my daughter, but I can continue to serve Him joyfully because of the promise that follows!!!
